Over 1300 people entered this year’s 10k with a further 404 taking part in the 3k fun run.
Renfrewshire’s Provost Celia Lawson was on hand to start both races and present the prizes.
Provost Lawson said: 'It was an absolutely fantastic day. The sun was shining and there was a really great atmosphere in Paisley town centre. It was particularly nice to see so many local runners taking part and groups running in aid of good causes. The 10k and road race always attracts a big crowd, both locally and from further afield and this, the eleventh year of the 10k was no exception. I’d like to thank all the staff and volunteers for their hard work in making the event such a success and most of all I’d like to congratulate everyone who took part in both the 10k and the fun run.'
He was closely followed by fellow countrman Tsegezab Woldemichael at 30 minutes 20 seconds.
The first female over the line was Kilbarchan Athletics Association’s Kerry Lang at 35 minutes and 8 seconds.
Kilbarchan Athletics also had success with winning the 1st female team and member Natalie Sharp coming in third for the women.
The first junior runner (under 20) was Russell Mountford, also from Kilbarchan Athletics.
Also taking part was Renfrewshire Council leader Derek Mackay, who completed the race in 50 minutes, and Miss Scotland, Nicola Mimnagh, from Kilbarchan, with a time of 56 minutes. Nicola then joined Provost Lawson on stage to present the prizes.
Gryffe High pupil Euan Gillham was the overall winner of the fun run, followed in second and third place by Callum Matthews, of Castlehead High, and Gavin McHardle, Gleniffer High.
Councillor Susan McDonald, Renfrewshire Council's Sports Champion, said: 'The Paisley 10k and fun run is a key event in the council's Active Renfrewshire strategy which aims to encourage everyone to lead healthier more active lifestyles. We want to provide as many opportunities as possible for people to get involved in active events like this so it is really great to see so many local young people doing well in these races and enjoying themselves. We have a wealth of sporting talent in Renfrewshire and we are committed to working with local groups and organisations to nurture that talent.'
