One of the best ways of countering stigma and encouraging people to be more open about mental health in general is through information. This page describes the wide range of services offered by the council and its partners to help people suffering from mental health problems.
There are many organisations which provide information, advice and support in relation to mental health problems. Some are listed below and you can find many more using the websites listed.
Local organisations
Acumen is a support network that enables mental health service users and carers to participate as equal partners in the development of services and the promotion of well being and recovery.
Choose Life provides advice, information guidance and training to staff, carers and the community to help them support those who are suicidal and/or self harming.
