About the Plan
The Renfrewshire children's services plan aims to make sure that local services for children and young people are integrated and effective. It covers services for all children and young people, including those with additional support needs or who are vulnerable and in need. The plan pulls together existing strategies for children and young people from education, social work and health authorities. The current plan is an interim one year plan as we move towards integrating children's services developments with community planning structures and our Single Outcome Agreement.

The plan has been prepared taking account from advice and guidance issued by the Scottish Government and from the council's community partners including NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, Strathclyde Police, Scottish Children's Reporter's Administration, and Who Cares Scotland. The plan follows the Scottish Government's 8-point vision for Scotland which seeks to ensure that children and young people are:

• safe
• nurtured
• healthy
• achieving
• active
• included
• respected, and
• responsible

The Integrated Children's Services Plan emphasises the principal areas of shared concern where better joint working will significantly improve outcomes for children, while providing clear signposts to other agency plans and strategies which have an impact on Renfrewshire's children. The plan identifies our objectives and shared priorities to improve access to universal services for all, reduce exclusion and achieve better outcomes in the context of the national 8-point vision. As a local partnership, we will do this by:

• making access to services easier
• working together to protect children
• targeting services to those in greatest need
• raising the standard and quality of our services
