Benefits and debt advice

Renfrewshire residents can now access our free and confidential service, offering advice on benefit entitlement, assisting clients to apply for benefits, appealing benefit decisions and representation at tribunals. We also offer a debt counselling service.

To speak to an advisor about welfare rights issues or problems with debts contact our helpline number.

Alternatively, contact the Advice Works office for an appointment at any of our outreach locations.

Advice Works is a service managed by social work which provides information and advice to Renfrewshire residents on all issues regarding state benefits and debts. We are a free, confidential and independent service and will give you advice in a straightforward manner. A home visiting service is available for those who are housebound or unable to come into the office.

Outreach Work
We also participate in one off events to publicise the work of the service. You can contact your local Advice Works office for more information.

Campaigns
Advice Works organise campaigns on a range of issues which are often centred around particular groups and themes such as carers, pensioners or disability. They also organise events and campaigns to let residents know about changes in benefit law.

Training
Our staff provide training on money advice and welfare benefits to local voluntary and community groups.

Talks
Our staff can provide a talk to local groups on a range of benefits or on general money advice.
If your group is interested in a training course or talk, contact your local Advice Works office.
