The focus of regeneration work is on town centre renewal, area regeneration and environmental improvements - all in line with the council’s priorities. The town centre renewal focus has been on Paisley town centre where a renewal strategy was prepared in consultation with partners before being implemented. A similar exercise is currently underway for Renfrew town centre.

Elsewhere, area regeneration proposals for the overall renewal of certain areas are being taken forward. Area regeneration focuses on neighbourhoods or sites identified by the council or through the Community Plan as being priorities. Examples include areas of extensive derelict land such as:
