Paisley is a lively town with interesting shopping in both covered malls and traditional, but recently enhanced, pedestrian streets.
High street names such as Marks and Spencer sit alongside specialist independent shops. Parking is easy with over 2,000 spaces available in or close to the town centre.

Paisley is a town well worth exploring on foot. The town centre is compact though with a couple of quite steep hills. The wealth of 19th and 20th century public buildings is a legacy of the huge thread industry of the Coats and Clark families. The gem in Paisley's crown, though, is the medieval Abbey, located close to the White Cart Water.
Two walks around the town are to be found in the leaflet 'A Paisley Buddie's Walk' which is available in Paisley Tourist Information Centre, 9a Gilmour Street, Paisley, other town centre attractions and local hotels. The companion publication 'Walk wi a Wee Paisley Buddie' provides the same walks, but for children.
The walks are available here as pdf files. If you would like to receive the printed version of the leaflet, email us at pt@renfrewshire.gov.uk.
