New: Consultation on the Renfrewshire Main Issues Report has now closed. All of the representations received during the consultation period are now being analysed. A summary report of all the responses is being prepared and will be available on the Council's website in June 2012.
Development plans set out the council's intentions for development and land use.
The current development plan for Renfrewshire is a combination of two separate plans:
The Planning etc. (Scotland) Act 2006 established a new framework for the preparation of development plans across Scotland. Strategic development plans will replace structure plans and local development plans will replace local plans.

Preparation of Renfrewshire Local Development Plan
We are committed to encouraging involvement in the development plan process because of the potential the planning system has to shape communities and the environment of our towns and villages.
Effective engagement provides opportunities for members of the public, businesses, developers, key agencies, interest groups and community groups to discuss issues and proposals.
We have a mailing list to ensure that interested parties are kept informed of progress on the Local Development Plan. If you would like to join the mailing list, email us at localplanconsultation@renfrewshire.gov.uk with your full contact details.
