With a population of approximately 175,000, Renfrewshire is Scotland’s ninth largest council area. It covers an area of around 270 square kilometres spanning south from Glasgow to the border with North Ayrshire and west from East Renfrewshire across to Inverclyde.
Renfrewshire council is the area’s largest employer. It has eight departments, nine policy boards, eight local grants boards and provides a number of key front-line services to residents.
The council has an obligation, in partnership with pro-active suppliers, to deliver cost efficient services to the residents of the area. The council must work within European and local legislation using procurement processes that are open to scrutiny and deliver best value.
All relevant tendering opportunities are made public to suppliers. The Council are keen to encourage small/medium enterprises to take part in these contract opportunities. More information is available on the 'Contracts and tenders' page.
With recent technological improvements, suppliers can now take part in electronic tenders at no cost. This process is being extended to all tendering departments.
If your company are successful in our tendering processes, we trust you will find Renfrewshire council a good partner to do business with.
