Renfrewshire Council are responsible for keeping roads, pavements, parks and other open space areas litter free.
In certain circumstances, the council can make landowners keep their land tidy and clear of litter by creating 'litter control areas'. Four litter control areas have been made to date:

• Ferguslie/Phoenix Retail Park, Paisley
• Castlehead, Paisley
• Linwood Shopping Centre, Linwood
• Deanside, Hillington
