Vocational training is any formal training that develops knowledge and skills linked to particular types of employment. This can happen in secondary school or later in life, perhaps when unemployed individuals are looking to return to work.

Secondary School
Secondary schools now offer vocational training for third year pupils in areas such as construction or hotel and catering. Studying for this vocational qualification replaces a standard grade subject.

Unemployed individuals
Unemployed individuals, particularly in the Paisley Partnership areas, can access training and development leading to employment opportunities.
