All Renfrewshire libraries have free access to web ready PCs which can be used for:

Booking a PC
Guest users
Hardware and software
Saving your Work
Accessibility aids

Booking a PC

• When you apply for an ICT membership you must agree to our conditions of access.
• Library members can drop into any library in Renfrewshire and book a PC if one is available.
• They can be booked for up to two hours but demand can be high so if you need a computer for a specific time it's best to book in advance, either in person or over the phone.
• You will need your library ticket membership number for booking and logging on.

Guest users

If you are not a member you can still use a PC as a guest user. Guest users:

• cannot book in advance, the booking must be made in person at the library
• formal identification showing your current address needs to be shown
• require to sign a form stating that you agree to our terms and conditions
• are restricted to thirty minutes and may have to wait until a computer is free.

Anyone can become a library member, so if you need to use a PC for more than occasional casual access it is better to join the library .

Hardware and software

• Microsoft Office including Word, Powerpoint, and Excel
• Microsoft publisher which can be used for cards , invitations certificates and more
• photo editing software
• media card readers to help you download your digital camera
• Printing facilities - charge applies
• scanners
• USB flash drives (memory sticks) and rewritable CDs for purchase

Saving your Work

• Please do not save onto the computer hard drive. USB pens are for sale in all of our libraries
• Anything that you are able to download must be saved onto a USB pen or a CD
• USB pens, discs, and all other removable storage devices must be virus checked by library staff before use in a library computer
