Computers can be used for:
- surfing the net
- downloading and editing your digital photos
- checking your e mail
- online banking and other online transactions
- homework and research
Booking a computer
- When you use our computers, you must agree to our conditions of access relating to acceptable use .
- Library members can drop into any library in Renfrewshire and book a computer if one is available.
- They can be booked for up to two hours but demand can be high so if you need a computer for a specific time it's best to book in advance, either in person or over the phone.
- You will need your library ticket membership number for booking and logging on.

Guest users
If you are not a member you may still be able to use a computer as a guest user. Guest users:
- cannot book in advance, the booking must be made in person at the library at the time of use
- require to show formal identification ie; bank card, passport or document showing your name and current address
- require to sign a form stating that you agree to our terms and conditions
- are restricted to thirty minutes and may have to wait until a computer is free.

Hardware and software
- Microsoft Office including Word, Powerpoint, and Excel
- Microsoft publisher which can be used for cards, invitations, certificates and more
- photo editing software
- media card readers to help you download images from your digital camera
- Printing facilities - charge applies
- scanners
- USB flash drives (memory sticks or data pens) for purchase
Saving your work
- Please do not save onto the computer hard drive, files will be removed at regular intervals but until then they will be able to be viewed by other computer users. USB pens are for sale in all of our libraries
- Anything that you are able to download must be saved onto a USB pen or a CD
- USB pens, discs, and all other removable storage devices must be virus checked by library staff before use in a library computer
