The Local Studies Library is based in Paisley Central Library.

The collection is extensive, includes current and historical sources, and provides a wealth of information about Renfrewshire people, places and events from earliest times to the present day.

You can find information about some of the records in our collection in the 'related content' section of this webpage and from the 'Special collections' and 'Tracing your family history' links on the right.

We are able to provide copying services, subject to copyright, for some of the resources in our collection. However, not all the material in our collection is suitable for copying. Local Studies Library staff can advise you on our copying service. Our copying charges are on the 'Library charges' webpage in 'About Renfrewshire libraries'.

We welcome enquiries by any method and are happy to help you in answering specific questions but it is not possible for us to undertake detailed or time consuming research. If you wish to contact us in advance of a visit, or would like more information, we're happy to help.
