We can help you. Our collection of language courses covers all levels from beginner to advanced. Our courses include -

• all the major European languages including Gaelic and Welsh
• a selection of the major world languages including Chinese, Japanese and Arabic

They are available in the following formats (there is no charge to borrow any of these items)

• cassette tape
• CD with accompanying books
• video
• CD-rom

You can borrow a language course and books using our online catalogue. If the course you are looking for is not in stock you can use our reservation service and we will try and get it for you.

How about learning a language online with BBC Language Courses?
The courses are easy to use, with a step-by-step programme, and full of interactive games and worksheets to help you. All our libraries provide free access to computers.

You can also support your learning with access to Oxford Language Dictionaries Online. Containing bilingual dictionaries in French, Spanish, Italian,German, and Chinese, they include guides to grammar, useful phrases and provide audio pronunciations. You can access this resource in all our libraries and if you are a library member you can get free access to it from home.
