We should have a course to suit you, you can borrow from a large collection of language courses, on cassettes or CDs, for all levels from beginner to advanced.
You can also make use of computers in all of our libraries to learn a new language online with BBC language courses. There is no charge for this service.

The range of courses includes

• all the major European languages including Gaelic and Welsh
• a selection of the major world languages including Chinese, Japanese and Arabic.

Format of courses is:

• cassette tape
• CD with accompanying books
• video
• CD-rom
• PC based online courses

There is no charge to borrow language courses on cassette, video and CD.

If your local library does not have the course or language you want, check our online catalogue using the link on the left or ask the library staff, then for a small charge, you can reserve it from another library.
