Clothing grant

You may be entitled to a clothing grant if:

your child attends a Renfrewshire school or if your child has been placed in an educational establishment outside Renfrewshire by Renfrewshire Council.
you are in receipt of income support, income based job seekers allowance, housing benefit or council tax rebate, working tax credit (if annual income is £16,190 or less, any income related element of employment and support allowance this threshold may rise from 1 July 2008) or child tax credit (if annual income is £16,190 or less).

you are 16 to 19 years old between 1 March 2010 and 28 February 2011.
your household income falls within the approved income thresholds set by the Scottish Government.
your course involves at least 21 hours of guided learning per week.
you attend a Renfrewshire school.

Free school meals

You may be entitled to free school meals if:

your child attends a Renfrewshire school or if your child has been placed in an educational establishment outside Renfrewshire by Renfrewshire Council.
you are in receipt of income support, any income related element of employment and support allowance, maximum working tax credits (if your annual income is £6,420 or less), child tax credit only (if your annual income is £16,190 or less) or pension credit.

your child lives more than one mile away from his of her local primary school by the shortest safe walking route.
your child lives more than three miles away from his or her local secondary school by the shortest safe walking route.
your child has been recommended on health grounds by a designated medical officer.
your child has been assessed to attend a school to meet the requirements of his or her additional support needs. These assessments involve education's psychological services who also recommend appropriate transport arrangements.
your child has to walk a route, which after seeking advice, is considered by education and leisure services to be unsafe for children.
