The General Register Office for Scotland in partnership with Scotland Online has recently launched "Scotland's People", a new website that offers extensive tracing information to researchers and people with an interest in family history. It is the official source of census records, civic registration and parish registers for Scotland. It contains almost 37 million names which can be searched, viewed, saved and printed.
