Registration of a Lottery

An organisation needs a lottery registration certificate if it intends to run a lottery,either by selling raffle tickets or scratch cards or running other 'games of chance'.
In terms of the Gambling Act 2005, a Society promoting a lottery can only do so for the following reasons:
- charitable purposes
- participation in, or in support of, athletic sports or games or cultural activities
- purposes which are not as described above but are neither purposes of private gain nor of any commercial undertaking
To apply for the grant or renewal of a society's lottery the application form below can be downloaded, completed and returned with the appropriate application fee to the licensing section at the address below. Please do not email your application form.
