The Authorities Buying Consortium Joint Committee was disolved with effect from 31st March, 2008.
Scotland Excel a new procurement organisation was launched on 1 April, 2008, dedicated to serve all local suthorities and related organisations across Scotland.
The Authorities Buying Consortium (abc) is a purchasing agency for local authorities and other public bodies in the west of Scotland.
The consortium provides a comprehensive, cost effective purchasing service to its customers by arranging and managing contracts. abc is supervised by a joint committee of 18 elected councillors drawn from twelve constituent authorities.
Meetings of the joint committee are held on a six-weekly basis in the offices of Renfrewshire Council.
