Community councils in Renfrewshire are supported in a variety of ways.
Administrative allowance
The council provides an annual administrative allowance to community councils to help with their operating costs. This is fixed at £400 per annum with an additional 3p per head of population, as detailed below:

- The council pays for the reasonable cost of postage, photocopying and distribution of community council minutes and agendas.
- The council will also pay the reasonable cost of hall fees for meetings up to a maximum of 12 per year for each community council.
- Community councils can apply for community grant scheme project funds from their local area committee.
- Community councils are provided with a laptop computer with internet and email capability and a colour printer.
