Cascading style sheets
The community website uses cascading style sheets which control how pages appear on the site. Features such as fonts, font sizes and margins, are standardised. If you adapt your screen reader or accessibility options to best allow you to read a particular page, the settings you make should work at the same level throughout this site.

Links to other sites
Unfortunately, the browser settings you choose to look at the website pages probably won't work in the same way when you follow the links to other sites. To let you know when you are moving from this website to another site, we will warn you by putting a standard html tag on all these links. The tags are in the form of '‘XYZ website opening in a new browser window’. The external site will always open in a new browser window opening allowing you to close the external link page and easily return to this website.

Changing text size
The site has been designed to display best on screen resolution of 1024 x 768 and with the browser text size set at medium. To change the text size you can use: To adjust the Internet Explorer text options, select from the menu buttons at the very top of your screen,"view" and then select "text size".

Working towards accessibility
At the launch of the community website project , Renfrewshire Council set out the objective of working towards the 'double A' standard (AA) of the World Wide Web Consortium's web content accessibility guidelines and we intend to work progressively towards this. Use this link to their website to find out more about the standard. We acknowledge the help and continuing support of the Social Work Visually Impaired Unit at Mile End Centre, Paisley in carrying out accessibility testing on the community website.
