Antisocial behaviour
The Antisocial Behaviour Helpline is available on 0800 069 1283 during the hours the hours 9am to 10pm, seven days a week.
The council also has two specialist teams to deal with complaints of neighbour nuisance and antisocial behaviour.
The mediation team works to resolve neighbour disputes by involving all the neighbours in trying to resolve the conflict.
The Anti-Social Investigation Team (ASIST) deals with more serious anti-social behaviour cases. Investigation by the mediation team or ASIST resolves the majority of cases. However, if the problem persists, various legal options are then considered and pursued as necessary, including Anti Social Behaviour Orders (ASBOs) and eviction.
To contact the mediation or ASIST teams:
- email: antisocial.hps@renfrewshire.gov.uk

Noise nuisance
If you have a problem with noise nuisance, you can make a complaint to the council's noise enforcement team. An officer will investigate your complaint and, where noise is caused by antisocial behaviour and exceeds permitted levels, the perpetrator may be issued with a warning notice which, if they fail to comply with, could be followed with a £100 fixed penalty notice. More information is available on our domestic noise page.
To contact the noise enforcement team:

Renfrewshire wardens
The Renfrewshire Wardens Service carries out a range of environmental and enforcement duties to deliver a cleaner and safer Renfrewshire. Wardens patrol across Renfrewshire from 7am to 10pm, seven days a week.

Abandoned vehicles
Abandoned vehicles are unsightly, may be dangerous and could even have been used in a crime.
It's not always easy to tell if a vehicle has been abandoned. Make sure that you do not enter or touch the vehicle. If it has been involved in a crime, the vehicle will need to be investigated by the police. It may also contain hazardous waste or could be a fire risk.
If you suspect that a vehicle has been abandoned, report it to the wardens. You can also report a suspected abandoned vehicle using our
For more information, go to our abandoned vehicles webpage.

Hate crime
- A hate crime is any criminal offence motivated by an offender's hatred of someone because of their:
- race, colour, ethnic origin, nationality or national origins
- religion
- gender identity
- sexual orientation, or
- disability.
You can report a hate crime at a police office; on the Strathclyde Police website; or at a 'third party reporting site'.
These sites are alternatives to police offices and give victims, or people concerned about them, the chance to report incidents without going directly to the police. All Renfrewshire libraries are third party reporting sites for hate crime - to find out more , go to the library opening times page.
