The Housing Support and Resettlement Team offers a range of support services to council tenants who are finding it difficult to live independently. If you are a council tenant, and feel that you might benefit from this help, you may contact us through the Housing Advice and Homeless Services, or through your local housing officer, health visitor or social worker.
We will:
- acknowledge, in writing, that we have received all requests for help within three working days;
- visit all new clients who urgently need help within five working days of acknowledging their request for support.
- during each initial visit, let new clients know who will be assessing their support needs, and how to contact them;
- assess support needs of all new clients, and write to them letting them know what support we will provide within 30 working days of receiving a request for help (this letter will also include details of when and how we will review support needs); and
- usually only end support by agreement with the client if we and they consider that it is no longer needed. If we and the client are not able to agree, we will write to the client at least 10 working days before withdrawing any support, letting them know exactly when support will end and why.
