When you contact one of our offices, or one of our staff gets in touch with you, we will:
- treat you fairly, and be polite and helpful at all times;
- respect your confidentiality and dignity;
- if you ask, provide a password for home visits so you can be sure that the caller is genuine;
- answer the phone within five rings;
- give our name and our section when answering the phone;
- respond to verbal enquiries within one working day, if the officer responsible is unavailable when you call;
- respond to written enquiries within 10 working days;
- make sure all our written replies are clear, and include a contact name and phone number; and
- if you ask, provide written information in a variety of languages and formats; and
- if you ask, provide an interpreter
