The assessment process and your homeless application

The period of time that we have to assess your application lets us make necessary checks on your circumstances. We'll keep you up to date with the progress of your application during the assessment period.

Your legal right to an appeal
Once we make our decision, you can ask to have that decision reviewed if you are unhappy with it.

Appeal in writing to:

You should make your appeal within 21 days of the decision, stating your reasons for asking for a review. You should give as much detail as possible to support your request.
