Homelessness

If you are homeless or threatened with homelessness, we will act within the following timescales:
| Action | Timescale |
| Interview people with nowhere to stay during normal working hours | 30 minutes |
| Respond to all out-of-hours emergencies | 2 hours |
| Arrange emergency accommodation (where appropriate) | 3 hours |
| Provide homeless families with children with furnished temporary accommodation (if needed) | 5 working days |
We will also try to make sure that:
| Action | Timescale |
| Families allocated bed and breakfast accommodation stay there | for no more than 14 days |
| Homeless people are told whether we intend to offer them permanent accommodation | within 60 days* |
* if for some reason we can't confirm this within 60 days, we will explain why.
