If you are homeless or threatened with homelessness, we will act within the following timescales:

Action Timescale
Interview people with nowhere to stay during normal working hours 30 minutes
Respond to all out-of-hours emergencies2 hours
Arrange emergency accommodation (where appropriate) 3 hours
Provide homeless families with children with furnished temporary accommodation (if needed)5 working days

We will also try to make sure that:

Action Timescale
Families allocated bed and breakfast accommodation stay there for no more than 14 days
Homeless people are told whether we intend to offer them permanent accommodation within 60 days*

* if for some reason we can't confirm this within 60 days, we will explain why.
