What we spent in 2007/2008
We invested £2 million in Renfrewshire’s private housing through the private sector grants programme.
Key points
- We paid out £282,000 in the form of 97 improvement grants to disabled applicants to help them carry out adaptations to their homes.
- We paid £377,000 to fund Care and Repair Renfrewshire and provided repair grants to their clients.
- We helped 1,528 households through the Care and Repair small repairs service in 2007/08.
Grant processing - a quicker and easier service
- We cut the time taken to process grants through our online system that checks the title deeds of properties against applications.
- We cut the average application processing time from 43 days to 13 days.
- We appointed a Renfrewshire Care and Repair project officer to provide a single point of contact to help homeowners with their grant applications for disabled adaptations.
Results from our latest customer satisfaction surveys show that:
- 100% of our customers were satisfied with the service provided by the grants officer, with 90% stating they were very satisfied.
- 86% were satisfied with the time taken to process their grant payment.
