If you report a repair to your council house, we will deal with any problems with your property within the following timescales:
When working in your home, all tradesmen will:
- introduce themselves politely and show you their identification
- explain the nature and purpose of the job
- be polite and courteous at all times
- be careful with their language
- ask permission to use your facilities
- take care of your property and possessions and protect these from dust, paint etc
- protect your carpets/floor coverings by wearing shoe covers when required
- minimise disruption and mess
- clear up when the job is completed or at the end of the working day
- be sensitive to the special needs of vulnerable or disadvantaged groups
- treat all customers fairly
- clearly explain the reasons if they are unable to complete the job and the next steps / timescale for completion
- give you contact numbers, if necessary, to ensure there is a means of communication, and
- reconnect and test services such as water, gas and electricity at the end of each working day.
