Getting help for a homeless person

Get them assistance in an emergency

If they are in urgent housing need, please call our emergency service on +44 (0)800 121 4466.


Advise them to visit one of our dedicated offices

Scotland has some of the strongest legislation within Europe for assisting homeless people and, as such, we would ask that you advise them to come and see us for a full homeless assessment. From this assessment, the person may be offered temporary accommodation and/or housing support services.

If they are 25 or over, please direct them to:

If you are concerned about someone sleeping out, then please contact either Abercorn Street office or George Street office who can you give you advice about what is available.


Direct them to a social organisation who may be able to help

Organisations, such as the local churches, may be able to provide help by providing free food.
