Renfrewshire Council

Leader's blog: our new fund will help communities 'light up' Renfrewshire this festive season

We want to help local groups make a difference in their community, that's why we've launched the new Festive Events Fund.

The fund is open to community groups who can apply for additional funding to support their own festive events this year.

To help your event run smoothly, we'll also be holding a series of drop-in sessions where you'll be able to get expert advice from our marketing, communications and events team on how to organise, promote, staff and manage any events you're organising in your community.

The sessions, which are open to anyone who is involved or interested in planning local events, will take place at:

o    Tweedie Hall, Linwood - 16 July

o    Cargill Hall, Bridge of Weir - 18 July

o    5a High Street, Paisley - 7 August

o    Renfrew Town Hall - 8 August

These sessions will give you a chance to chat with our award-winning team about events support, marketing support and recruiting volunteers for your event. You can sign up for a slot here...

Our new Events Toolkit also includes all the information you'll need to hold a successful and safe event in your community. You can view our new toolkit here http://www.renfrewshire.gov.uk/event-checklist.

This new fund will help community groups  'light up' Renfrewshire this year and I would encourage any group planning a festive events in 2019 to apply before the closing date of Friday 6 September.

It's easy to apply, just visit http://www.renfrewshire.gov.uk/article/9141/Festive-Events-Fund and fill out a grant application form.
