Renfrewshire Council

Have your say on a catchment review affecting Bishopton and Dargavel Village

You can soon have your say on a catchment review affecting Bishopton Primary School, and a new non-denominational primary school to be built in Dargavel Village.

There is currently no defined catchment area for the proposed school, and Renfrewshire Council seeks to create a natural boundary line using the railway line adjacent to Dargavel Village, minimising the impact on the existing Bishopton Primary School catchment area.

If the proposal is approved, then all pupils living in affected addresses would be entitled to continue attending Bishopton Primary School, and transition support would be in place to any pupils opting to change school as a result of the proposal.

Provision in Dargavel Village for denominational primary pupils will remain as it is currently, within the St John Bosco Primary School catchment.  There is no impact to secondary school catchment areas.

A public meeting to discuss the proposals is due to be held on Tuesday 5 February 2019 at 7pm in Bishopton Primary School.

The consultation documents and an online response form will be available from Tuesday 5 February in the Have Your Say section of the website.

The consultation will run until Tuesday 26 March 2019.
