Last chance to nominate young people who deserve recognition

Nominate a young person for one of the Positive About Youth (PAY) awards in 2018.

The deadline looms for this year's Positive About Youth awards nominations and you have an extra special reason to nominate as many young people as possible to help Renfrewshire Youth Voice celebrate the Year of Young People.

You can submit your nomination by clicking the PAY 2018 nominations survey under 'related links' before Friday 5 October.

Here's the award categories:

Ferran Hart Young Creative Artist Award

Recognising a young person who is passionate about the arts, whether it be through a love of art, film, acting, dance or photography. This is a chance for their work to be appreciated and recognised within the community.


Young Carer of the Year Award

Highlighting a caring individual who has dedicated time to help someone less fortune than themselves or a family member. This young person should be recognised for the selfless actions they carry out on a daily and weekly basis.


Eilish Herron Young Sports Person Award

Celebrating the achievements of a young person for their sports coaching or a major milestone in their own sporting background. This young person gives up their free time to help others or always strides to do their best and achieve.


Youth Group of the Year Award

Putting a spotlight on a group of young people that have worked tirelessly to improve their peer's lives. They could have created or planned a youth project that has inspired others, helped to build a better community/school or a project that has made a positive impact to the lives of young people.


The Unsung Hero Award

Honouring a young person that has gone the extra mile but never seeks any recognition or reward for their work. They are someone who brings more than expected to their community and to the people they help, always working with a smile and freely giving up their time.


Young Volunteer of the Year Award

Celebrating a young person that has helped people in and around their community. They are a young person who consistently gives up their free time to help other people, changing lives for the better.


Discovery Award

Recognising a young person or youth group who are passionate about helping others develop skills in science or engineering. They could run a science club, have taken part in a project to design or build a device that could save lives or have some benefit to the wider community.


Campaign for Change Award

Highlighting a young person or youth group that has campaigned or is currently campaigning for a change of circumstances for other young people. They might be trying to raise money for a worthy cause or trying to raise awareness of something close to their heart and will have worked hard to get a positive change for young people, whether that be locally or nationally. 


Young Fundraiser of the Year

Praising a young person or youth group who have shown outstanding interest in raising money for the greater good in their community.


YoYP 2018 Award

Honouring a young person who embodies positive values for the betterment of young people in Renfrewshire.
