Exams 2018 support and advice

Got your exam results and need support?

Here's where you can get help and advice if your exam results are better or worse than you expected.

It's the big day and your exam results are coming through your letterbox (or by text and email to your phone), but what if they aren't what you expected?

Don't panic. There is plenty of support out there.

Call the Skills Development Scotland helpline on 0808 100 8000 if your exam results aren't what you expected.

They can help you find alternative courses, including college courses, modern apprenticeships and much more.

If you've done better than you expected and now want to change your uni course, visit the UCAS website (see 'related links') and get support through a process known as adjustment.

You can also visit UCAS for clearing - that's where you didn't meet the conditions for your course or you've decided you want a different course.

Whatever your results, remember there are many paths towards your dream career. So, if you didn't get into the course you wanted, it's not the end of the world. There are plenty of other ways to get there, some of which take the same amount of time, such as college courses that grant you entry into third year at university.
