Renfrewshire Council

Scottish Social Security Agency

The Scottish Government have created the Scottish Social Security Agency, which will deliver devolved social security provision from this year onwards.  The Social Security Bill is currently going through the Scottish Parliament, to provide a framework for  policy and regulations to enable the provision of devolved benefits from the Agency. There are ongoing discussions to the future local provision of service within Renfrewshire from the new Scottish Social Security Agency. The Carers Allowance supplement will be paid from the Summer of 2018.
