Children's Services

Peter Macleod is the Director of Children's Services.

Children's Services is responsible for education services, children's social work services and criminal justice social work services.

Priorities for the service include:

  • tackling child poverty
  • raising educational attainment
  • addressing social and health inequalities, and 
  • making sure that all our children are helped to reach their full potential.

The Director is supported by an Assistant Director (Education) and three Heads of Service, and by the Extended Senior Leadership Team. You can find this in the related documents.

Each year, the service produces a Service Improvement Plan outlining the main actions it will be taking to improve services.  You can find this in the related documents.

Children's Services provides regular financial reports to the Education and Children's Services Policy Board.  You can find these in related documents.
