Renfrewshire Council

Disability equality

Renfrewshire Council is committed to planning services in order to take into account the needs of the disabled community.

We work closely with disability groups to support their representative role.

Groups we work with include Renfrewshire Disability Steering Group, Renfrewshire Access Panel and Renfrewshire Deaf Forum Committee.

Disabled people make up approximately one fifth of Scotland's population, yet often experience high levels of inequality compared to non-disabled people. Our aim is to promote equality and inclusion for disabled people, and also provide information about how we are meeting our duties under legislation.
