Renfrewshire Council

Reassurance to residents on Renfrewshire multi-storey flat safety

Renfrewshire has 14 multi-storey flats which are home to tenants and residents.

Following the tragic fire at Grenfell Tower in London, we would like to reassure tenants and residents living in multi-storey flats in Renfrewshire.

The Council works closely with Scottish Fire & Rescue Service to ensure the safety of occupants. Regular fire safety inspections are carried out by the Fire Service and our housing concierge and caretakers regularly inspect each of the blocks to ensure that a range of fire safety measures are in place.

All works on Renfrewshire high rise housing blocks, including over-cladding, comply with Scottish Building regulations and materials used are designed to be fire retardant.

All residents are provided with up-to-date advice on what to do in the event of a fire regularly and the Council is writing to all residents in our high rise housing blocks to remind them of this information.

If any resident has any concern, they can contact a member of the Council's housing team on 0300 300 0222. Scottish Fire & Rescue Service offer free home fire safety visits, which can be arranged by calling 0800 0731 999.

As further information becomes available following the results of the London fire investigation, the Council will work closely with Fire Service on any concerns raised.
