2020 exams and qualifications

There will be no exams before the summer holidays, as confirmed by the Scottish Government. We know how important exams are for the future prospects of our pupils and we will do all we can to ensure the hard work of our pupils throughout the year is fairly rewarded and you get the grades you deserve.

The SQA Awards process for 2020 was outlined in a letter sent to parents and carers of S4, S5 and S6 pupils from Steven Quinn, Director of Children's Services, in April.

Latest from Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA):

Please encourage your child to sign up to MySQA. This will ensure they receive their results via email and text immediately when results are released.

2021 exams and qualifications

There will be a full timetable of exams and coursework for all levels in 2021, as confirmed by Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA).

However, teachers will continue to collect and retain evidence throughout the school year as a contigency should alternative certification be required for next year.

We know exams are always a focus and we do everything we can to ensure senior-phase school pupils get the best possible chance to succeed in them. Our teachers will tailor lessons to ensure your child has every chance to earn qualifications that reward them for their hard work throughout the year.

Our advice to pupils would be to hit the ground running and do all you can in assessment right from the start of the year, rather than waiting for final exams.
