Temporary cycleways

It's important that whatever form of transport you choose to use, be it car, bike or walking, that you are safe on our roads and are able to travel without worry.

Cycleways ensure that active travel is a viable option for people as there are safe, accessible routes and, in line with our climate change aspirations, we want to encourage people to leave the car at home whenever they can.

The proposed cycleways would make it easier and safer for cyclists to commute and use the roads in general, but we will continue to take the views of residents on board.

We ran a consultation in July on the proposed cycleways and we are currently working through the feedback to inform the future design of the projects.

Cycleways have been proposed at the following locations:

  • Howwood to Paisley
  • Bridge of Weir to Gryffe High School
  • Causeyside Street
  • Inchinnan Rd Paisley
  • Greenock Rd, Inchinnan
  • Inchinnan Rd, Renfrew
  • Glasgow Road (west of Hawkhead Road)
  • Barrhead Road (Lonend to Hawkhead Road roundabout)
  • Paisley to Renfrew
